Full face Botox in Berlin – a whole-face treatment with botulinum toxin
Full face Botox looks not at a single line but at how several groups of facial muscles work together. The aim is a balanced treatment in which no individual area looks treated in isolation and your natural expression is preserved as far as possible.
At AS Clinic Berlin on Kurfürstendamm, the treatment is planned individually according to your facial anatomy, muscle activity, existing asymmetries and the result you want.
"Full face" explicitly does not mean treating the whole face with as much botulinum toxin as possible, or injecting every conceivable region. What matters is: which muscles work particularly strongly? Which movements affect other areas of the face? Where does treatment make sense – and which regions should deliberately stay untreated?
Compared with treating a single zone in isolation, a whole-face approach can help to take better account of the balance between the forehead, eyebrows, eye area, nose, mouth, chin and lower face.
What is full face Botox?
Full face Botox is a treatment concept in which several functionally connected muscle groups of the face are analysed together and — where it makes sense — treated with botulinum toxin in a targeted way. In a classic single-zone treatment, only the frown line, the forehead or the eye area is the focus; the full-face concept additionally takes into account how these and other areas of facial expression interact. Facial muscles do not work independently of each other: eyebrow position, forehead movement, smiling, the corners of the mouth, the chin and the lower face together shape the expression. A change in one area can therefore have effects in another.

What does "full face" mean with Botox?
"Full face" does not mean that every region of the face is injected. It means the face is analysed as a functional unit, so that treatment of several sensibly chosen areas can be coordinated. The aim is therefore not as many injection points as possible, but a coherent distribution of the treatment across the relevant muscle groups. Before treatment we assess:
- Which muscles are particularly active
- Which movements create the lines that bother you
- Which muscle groups influence each other
- Which natural asymmetries exist
- Which expressions should be preserved
- Which areas need no treatment at all

Which areas can be considered in full face Botox?
Depending on the facial anatomy and the treatment goal, different regions can be included in the analysis. Not all of these areas are treated in every person. In addition, whether a particular botulinum toxin use is approved depends on the medicine used and the region in question; uses outside the approved indication require an individual medical assessment and explanation. The regions that can be included are:
- The forehead
- The frown line / glabellar region
- Crow's feet
- The eyebrow region
- The nose region
- Selected lines around the mouth and lips
- The corners of the mouth
- The chin
- The jaw region
- Selected areas of the lower face
- The neck, or platysma
Why should several facial areas be considered together?
The facial musculature works as a system of muscles with partly opposing actions. If only one muscle group is treated, the balance of forces with neighbouring muscles can change. The eyebrow region is a particularly good example: some muscles raise the eyebrows, others pull them down, others inwards. If only one of these functions is changed, the eyebrow position can change accordingly. Full face Botox is therefore above all about balance – not maximum muscle relaxation. In whole-face planning we look at, for example:
- Forehead movement
- The frown line
- Eyebrow position
- Movement of the eye region
- The relationship between the right and left sides
Will my face be immobile after full face Botox?
Not necessarily. How much movement is restricted depends on the dose, the muscles treated, the injection points and the result you want. A conservatively planned treatment can reduce the overactivity that bothers you without switching off all facial expression. A natural result does not necessarily mean that no effect is visible afterwards — it means that the effect suits your face and the expression you want. Before treatment it should therefore be established:
- Which expressions do you definitely want to keep?
- Which movement bothers you?
- Which lines appear only in movement?
- Which lines remain visible at rest?
- How strong should the change be?
What does "balanced Botox" mean?
Balanced Botox describes an approach that takes into account not only individual lines but the balance of forces between different facial muscles. It can make little sense, for example, to treat the forehead very strongly if that muscle contributes substantially to holding the eyebrows in their natural position. The dose is therefore not set purely by how deep a line looks. In the lower face, too, it should be considered which muscles:
- Move the corners of the mouth
- Affect the shape of the chin
- Move the lower lip
- Help shape the jaw and neck contour
Full face Botox or a classic three-zone treatment – what is the difference?
A classic multi-zone treatment usually concentrates on predefined areas of the upper face. Full face Botox starts instead with a broader analysis and can — where indicated — include other functionally relevant regions. A broader treatment is not automatically better: if only one region genuinely needs treating, a targeted single treatment can be entirely sufficient.
| Full face Botox | Classic zone treatment |
|---|---|
| Whole-face expression analysis | Focus on individual defined zones |
| Several muscle groups can be considered | For example forehead, frown line, crow's feet |
| Dosing coordinated across several areas | Dosing primarily zone-based |
| Considers the upper and, where relevant, the lower face | Often focused on the upper face |
| An individual concept | More focused on individual treatment areas |
Full face Botox or Mesobotox – what is the difference?
Full face Botox and Mesobotox differ above all in injection depth, distribution and treatment goal. Full face Botox treats selected muscle groups in a targeted way; Mesobotox typically works more superficially with many smaller micro-injections. The two terms should not be confused.
- Full face Botox — focused on muscle activity, facial expression, the balance of different muscle groups and expression lines.
- Mesobotox — focused more on a superficial micro-dose technique, fine lines, certain aspects of the skin's appearance and influencing superficial structures as subtly as possible.

Full face Botox or hyaluronic acid filler – what is the difference?
Botulinum toxin reduces muscle activity in a targeted way. Hyaluronic acid fillers, by contrast, add volume and can change contours. The two therefore treat different causes. A line should not be treated on the basis of how it looks alone — the first question is whether muscle movement, volume loss, skin quality or a combination is the main cause.
| Full face Botox | Hyaluronic acid filler |
|---|---|
| Affects muscle activity | Adds volume |
| Treats causes related to expression | Treats deficits of volume and contour |
| No volume build-up | An immediate volume effect |
| The effect develops over days | The change is visible immediately |
| The effect wears off on its own | Hyaluronic acid is broken down slowly |
| Cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase | Hyaluronic acid can generally be dissolved |

Can full face Botox lift the face?
By changing the forces of certain muscles, botulinum toxin can create a subtle visual effect on the eyebrows, the corners of the mouth or the contours. It is not a facelift, however, and it does not tighten excess skin. The term "Botox lifting", often used, should therefore not be confused with surgical tightening. Botulinum toxin primarily changes the activity of selected muscles and:
- Does not remove skin
- Does not build volume
- Does not reposition deep tissue layers
- Does not replace a surgical facelift
Can full face Botox raise the eyebrows?
By influencing certain muscles around the eyebrows, a subtle change in brow position can be possible with suitable anatomy. The effect is limited, however, and not comparable to a surgical brow lift. Eyebrow position is determined by a balance between different muscles — the forehead muscle, the muscles between the eyebrows and the muscle activity around the eyes therefore have to be considered together. Treating the forehead too strongly can even make the eyebrows appear lower. A so-called Botox brow lift means treating selected muscles in order to change the balance of forces around the brow; the effect is subtle, individual, temporary and not equally possible with every eyebrow shape.
Full face Botox for the forehead and frown line
The forehead and the glabellar region should be considered together functionally, because muscles with opposing effects on the eyebrows work there. That is precisely why the balance between the two regions should be analysed before treatment.
- Forehead — the forehead muscle raises the eyebrows. Reducing its activity too strongly can make the forehead very still, but at the same time affect the position of the eyebrows.
- Frown line — muscles in the glabellar region pull the eyebrows inwards and downwards, among other things. Treating them in a targeted way can soften the frown line.
Full face Botox for crow's feet
Crow's feet are created above all by the activity of the ring-shaped muscle around the eye and appear particularly when you smile. Treatment can reduce the lines at the outer corners of the eyes; the aim should not be to switch off a natural smile entirely. At the same time we consider:
- How the eyes look when you smile
- Where the eyebrows sit
- How pronounced the muscle activity is
- Whether there are natural differences between right and left

Full face Botox in the nose region
Depending on the anatomy, the marketing authorisation of the medicine used and the individual indication, certain changes to expression around the nose can also be discussed. So-called bunny lines, created by muscle movements beside or above the nose, are one example. Not every visible line in the nose region is automatically suitable for botulinum toxin, however.
Full face Botox in the mouth region
The mouth region is functionally complex, because numerous small muscles are responsible for speaking, eating, drinking and expression. Particularly conservative planning is therefore required here: unwanted muscle weakness around the mouth can impair function, and treatment there should not follow a blanket standard template. Depending on the individual situation, the following can be discussed, for example:
- A lip flip
- Certain expression lines
- Corners of the mouth that turn downwards
- Chin activity
What is a lip flip with botulinum toxin?
In a so-called lip flip, a small amount of botulinum toxin is placed into selected parts of the muscle around the mouth in order to subtly change the position of the upper lip. No additional lip volume is created — a lip flip is therefore not the same as a lip filler. Which method suits better depends on the result you want.
- Lip flip — no hyaluronic acid, no real build-up of volume, the effect works through muscle activity.
- Lip filler — hyaluronic acid, volume and contour, an immediate structural change.

Full face Botox in the chin region and for the corners of the mouth
Strong activity of the chin muscle can contribute to an uneven or dimpled-looking chin surface in some people; targeted treatment can reduce that muscle activity depending on the starting point. Certain muscles that pull the corners of the mouth downwards can also be discussed where the anatomy suits. The principle holds: botulinum toxin does not fill a line and does not add volume, it works solely through muscle activity. Because the muscles of the lower face work closely together, particular attention has to be paid to:
- The dose
- Symmetry
- Mouth movement
- Lower-lip function
Full face Botox and the masseter
The masseter is a strong chewing muscle at the side of the jaw. Treating this muscle pursues a different goal from the classic treatment of lines in the upper face. Whether such a treatment should be part of a full-face concept has to be decided individually; it should not be carried out simply to promise "a slimmer face" in general terms. Depending on the individual situation, treating the masseter can be discussed in connection with:
- Pronounced muscle activity
- Clearly visible muscle volume
- Certain functional questions
Full face Botox in the neck and jawline region
The neck and jaw region is influenced by the platysma, among other things. With certain anatomical starting points, botulinum toxin concepts can also take this musculature into account. Such uses differ clearly from a jawline filler: botulinum toxin affects muscle activity, while a jawline filler adds structure and volume along the jaw. Which treatment makes more sense depends on why the jawline appears less defined.

Why must full face Botox be dosed individually?
A fixed number of units for every face would make little medical or aesthetic sense. Muscle strength, anatomy and the desired result differ considerably from person to person. Important: the units of different botulinum toxin products are not generally directly comparable, so the quality of a treatment should not be judged by the highest possible number of "units". The dose depends among other things on:
- The muscle group treated
- Muscle strength
- Gender and individual anatomy
- Facial symmetry
- Previous treatments
- The degree of movement you want to keep
- The specific botulinum toxin product used
Is less Botox per point sensible with a full-face plan?
With a whole-face concept it can make sense to distribute the overall treatment across several selected muscle groups rather than treating one region very strongly. That does not automatically mean that every point has to be dosed particularly low. The aim should not be "low dose at any price", but an appropriate dose for the particular muscle and the particular treatment goal. The right dose follows:
- The muscle
- The region
- The effect wanted
- The preparation used
- The individual anatomy
How full face Botox works at AS Clinic Berlin
-
Personal consultation
We start by discussing which expressions or lines bother you. We also establish which areas you would like to change, which expressions you definitely want to keep, which previous botulinum toxin treatments you have had, what effect you experienced, and what result you expect.
-
Full-face expression analysis
The face is first examined at rest. Various movements can then be analysed: raising the eyebrows, frowning, drawing the eyebrows together, smiling, squinting, moving the nose, shaping the lips, moving the corners of the mouth and tensing the chin. This creates a map of your individual muscle activity.
-
Assessing muscle balance
We then assess which muscles are particularly dominant, which muscle groups work against each other, where natural asymmetries exist, which regions should be treated at all, and how strongly the movement should be reduced.
-
Individual treatment plan
We then determine which areas are treated, which deliberately stay untreated, what dose is planned, which expressions should be preserved, and whether all planned regions should be treated in one session.
-
Injection
Botulinum toxin is injected with a very fine needle into the muscle areas planned. The treatment at AS Clinic takes about 25 to 35 minutes. Classic anaesthesia is not necessary in many treatment areas.
-
Letting the effect develop
Unlike a hyaluronic acid filler, the actual effect is not yet visible immediately after the injection. Muscle activity changes gradually over the following days.
-
Assessment after about two weeks
After about two weeks it is far easier to assess how the individual muscle groups have changed, whether the face looks harmonious, whether the right and left sides have responded evenly, whether enough expression has been preserved, and whether a small adjustment appears sensible.
When does full face Botox start working?
First changes can typically become visible within a few days. Because different muscle groups can respond differently, the overall result should only be assessed after about two weeks. The effect needs time first — it therefore makes little sense to decide the very next day that:
- The effect is too weak
- More botulinum toxin is needed
- An asymmetry has to be corrected
How long does full face Botox last?
The effect of botulinum toxin is temporary and, in aesthetic use, often lasts several months. For many people the period is roughly three to four months, though individually it can be shorter or longer. Longevity can also differ between facial regions: a strong muscle can behave differently from a small muscle of expression. Not every treated region therefore has to be treated again at exactly the same time.
How often should full face Botox be repeated?
A repeat treatment should follow the return of relevant muscle activity and a fresh assessment – not a fixed calendar alone. The dose required can change at every new appointment. That applies particularly when:
- Muscle activity has become weaker
- Other areas stand out more
- The desired result has changed
- Several treatments have already been carried out
Can Botox eventually become permanent?
No. The pharmacological effect of botulinum toxin is inherently temporary. With repeated treatments, the muscle activity you perceive, or how often you need treatment, can change individually. A permanent, guaranteed effect should not be expected, however.
Does full face Botox hurt?
The treatment is carried out with very fine needles. Most injection points are felt as brief pinpricks. How much you feel can vary from person to person and between facial regions. Because several areas can be treated, full face Botox involves more injection points than a simple single-zone treatment.
Is there downtime after full face Botox?
Classic downtime is often not required. Many people can return to their normal day immediately after treatment. Small injection-site reactions, redness, swelling or bruising can occur, however. It therefore cannot be guaranteed that there will be no visible trace at all straight after treatment.
Full face Botox before a wedding or photoshoot
The treatment should not be carried out for the first time immediately before an important occasion. For a wedding, photoshoot, video shoot or other important event, allow enough time. Even though downtime is usually minimal:
- Bruising is possible
- The effect develops over several days
- The final balance is only assessed later
What should I bear in mind after full face Botox?
The individual recommendations depend on the regions treated. Prescribed medicines must never be paused or stopped on your own initiative for an aesthetic treatment. In general, the following can be relevant:
- Do not rub or massage the injection sites firmly at first
- Avoid unnecessary firm pressure on the treated areas
- Follow the individual advice on sport and physical exertion
- Report unusual symptoms
Risks and side effects of full face Botox
A botulinum toxin treatment is not free of risk either. Because several muscle groups can be included in a full-face concept, the possible side effects depend substantially on the regions treated. Depending on the region, unwanted muscle weakness can also occur — for example a changed eyebrow position, a temporarily lower eyelid, asymmetric expression, an unwanted change to mouth movements or weakness in neighbouring muscles. The specific risks are discussed before the injection, in line with the treatment plan. Possible temporary reactions include:
- Redness
- Small swellings
- Tenderness
- Bruising
- Headache
- Temporary asymmetries
Why is precise dosing particularly important in the lower face?
The muscles around the mouth and chin are small, closely connected and responsible for important functions. Unwanted weakening can therefore affect speaking, smiling, drinking or lip movements. For that reason the lower half of the face requires particularly individual and conservative planning.
Which symptoms after botulinum toxin need immediate attention?
Unusual, severe symptoms such as marked difficulty swallowing, speaking or breathing, or pronounced generalised muscle weakness should be assessed medically at once. Symptoms like these are not part of the intended treatment result and should not be left until the normal review appointment.
Who may full face Botox be suitable for?
A full-face concept may be an option for adults where several interconnected muscle groups of facial expression are to be treated and a single-zone treatment may not sufficiently account for the result wanted. Whether a full-face concept is genuinely sensible is assessed individually. Possible starting points can be:
- Several areas of expression lines
- Strong muscle activity in different regions
- A wish for a balanced overall concept
- Previous single-zone treatments with a wish for more harmonious planning
- Natural asymmetries
- Differing muscle activity between the right and left sides
When may full face Botox not be necessary?
Not everyone needs treatment across several facial regions. If only one muscle group is actively bothering you, treating that region specifically can make more sense. A full-face treatment should not be chosen simply because it sounds more comprehensive: more treatment zones do not automatically mean a better result.

When should botulinum toxin not be used, or only later?
Whether a treatment is suitable also depends on the specific product used and your individual state of health. A complete assessment therefore cannot be made through an online form alone. Treatment can be unsuitable or postponed, for example, with:
- An infection in the planned treatment area
- Certain neuromuscular conditions
- Known hypersensitivity to components of the product
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
- Certain medicines or medical risk factors
Full face Botox in pregnancy and while breastfeeding
Aesthetic botulinum toxin treatments are not routinely carried out during pregnancy or breastfeeding. An existing or possible pregnancy, or breastfeeding, should therefore be raised at the consultation.
Full face Botox and off-label use
Not every facial region discussed aesthetically is within the approved use of every botulinum toxin product. Depending on the product and treatment area, it can therefore be an off-label use. Off-label means an approved medicine is used outside a specifically approved indication or method of use. That does not automatically mean a treatment is unsuitable — but it does mean the specific use must be medically justified and explained individually.

Why choose AS Clinic for full face Botox in Berlin?
The face is analysed as a whole
A line is not considered in isolation from the rest of your expression. The aim is to understand the relationships between different muscle groups.
No rigid number of treatment zones
Full face does not mean a fixed number of regions has to be treated. We treat only the areas that belong to your individual concept.
A low dose is not an end in itself
A conservative treatment can make sense. The dose is planned according to the muscle and the goal, though – not on the principle of "as little as possible".
Natural expression is part of the plan
Before treatment we agree which movements should be preserved.
The upper and lower face are distinguished functionally
The forehead, the eye area and the lower face have different anatomical and functional requirements.
Review once the effect has developed
The result is not judged on the day of the injection. The effect has to develop fully first.
Transparent information
The effect, its limits, side effects and, where relevant, use outside an approved indication are discussed before treatment.
